Intelligent Memory Secures ESD Certification for its Manufacturing Facility
Hong Kong, January 25, 2024 – Intelligent Memory (IM), manufacturer of industrial-grade memory product solutions, has successfully gained a third-party certification for the protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) in its manufacturing and warehouse facilities in Hong Kong.
ESD is a major cause of failures in the electronics manufacturing industry. As another step in proving the high quality of its products and manufacturing process, Intelligent Memory had its manufacturing, assembly, packaging, labelling, testing, inspection, and other handling of electrical or electronic parts thoroughly audited by DQS, the German Association of Quality. Following a two-stage audit process over the course of nine months, Intelligent Memory was awarded the ANSI/ESD S20.20-2021 system certification.
This standard is recognized as the premier international authority on ESD protection systems. The standard provides administrative and technical requirements for establishing, implementing, and maintaining an ESD Control Program to protect electrical or electronic parts, assemblies, and equipment susceptible to ESD damage from Human Body Model (HBM) discharges greater than or equal to 100 volts.
“As semiconductor memory products are increasingly getting smaller, faster and more integrated, it is important to protect these highly sensitive products from ESD,” explains Joseph Chan, Global Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations at Intelligent Memory. “We are committed to continually enhancing our quality strategies by boosting employee awareness and continuously upgrading our ESD protection measures to elevate the overall quality of our products.”
Intelligent Memory focuses on legacy memory products for industrial applications. It is one of the few memory manufacturers that offers DRAM components as well as DRAM modules ranging from SDRAM to DDR4 in addition to its customizable NAND flash memory portfolio. All memory products are available in a wide range of capacities and configurations, making IM’s portfolio one of the most comprehensive offerings in the market from one single source.
